General Cable Aids Alberta Wildfire Victims Through Red Cross
Earlier this spring, Fort McMurray, Alberta was faced with a major natural disaster in the form of a devastating wild fire. At least 85,000 people were evacuated from the city and almost 2,000 buildings and homes were destroyed. Ultimately, 25% of the city was burned in addition to over 100,000 hectares of forest being lost.
General Cable was happy to donate $2,500 CAD to the Canadian Red Cross to aid in relief and rebuilding efforts. This donation amount has been matched dollar-for-dollar by the Canadian government. General Cable will continue to support the Fort McMurray community as they work to move past this devastation.
